Another of our fantastic coffees purchased directly through Ricardo Zelaya, the Guatemala Carrizal is not available as a single origin.  Instead, it contributes body, sweet tones of citrus and stone fruit and hints of chocolate to several of our blends.

Finca Carrizal plantation, one of Ricardo's grandfather's first farms, is very remote - 8 hours on a 4x4 when our founders first visited in 2006.  Barney and Pete's tour of the area prompted their creation of the Santa Clara School Project.

Ricardo Zelaya Coffee also produces our single origin Finca Santa Clara coffee.

2016 UPDATE!

The newly launched and their Facebook page offer a great glimpse into the folks behind the coffee.  One great example is this profile on Jorge.  Having started at the Carrizal Farm, Jorge moved onto the manage the coffee mill in Santa Clara and now oversees green coffee quality for exporting. Thanks to Ricardo for passing these stories along!
